_V_a_r_i_a_b_l_e_s _f_r_o_m _t_h_e _1_9_9_7 _C_a_n_a_d_i_a_n _N_a_t_i_o_n_a_l _E_l_e_c_t_i_o_n _S_t_u_d_y

_D_e_s_c_r_i_p_t_i_o_n:

     These variables are from the mailback questionnaire to the 1997
     Canadian National Election Study, and are intended to tap attitude
     towards ``traditional values.''

_U_s_a_g_e:

     data(CNES)

_F_o_r_m_a_t:

     A data frame with 1529 observations on the following 4 variables.

     '_M_B_S_A_2' an ordered factor with levels 'StronglyDisagree' 
          'Disagree' 'Agree' 'StronglyAgree', in response to the
          statement, ``We should be more tolerant of people who choose
          to live according to their own standards,  even if they are
          very different from our own.''

     '_M_B_S_A_7' an ordered factor with levels 'StronglyDisagree' 
          'Disagree' 'Agree' 'StronglyAgree', in response to the
          statement, ``Newer lifestyles are contributing to the
          breakdown of our society.''

     '_M_B_S_A_8' an ordered factor with levels 'StronglyDisagree' 
          'Disagree' 'Agree' 'StronglyAgree', in response to the
          statement, ``The world is always changing and we should adapt
          our view of moral behaviour to these changes.''

     '_M_B_S_A_9' an ordered factor with levels 'StronglyDisagree' 
          'Disagree' 'Agree' 'StronglyAgree', in response to the
          statement, ``This country would have many fewer problems if
          there were more emphasis on traditional family values.''
